Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

This lecture course continues the introduction into methods for
investigating and solving real-world problems. At the beginning
a few interesting mathematical models are presented. Afterwards,
the computation of eigenvalues, solving systems of nonlinear equations,
integration and differentiation in higher dimensions are discussed.
At the end, introductions to optimization and to the methods for solving
differential equations are given.

Assessment and permitted materials

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Preparation for the more advanced courses in applied mathematics and
scientific computing.
