Aims, contents and method of the course

We shall study new articles by Buch, Knutson and Tao, Danilov and Koshevoy on the Robinson-Schensted correspondence. The latter
is a bijection between permutations and pairs of tableaux with phantastic properties. At the beginning, I shall present a brief introduction into the Robinson-Schensted correspondence, so that, aside from some basic knowledge in linear algebra, no prerequisites are necessary.
