Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

In this seminar we focus on mathematical analysis as well as modeling with (partial) differential equations. The whole variety of state-of-the-art techniques of (P)DE analysis is available. Topics are offered; within certain restrictions, also topics freely selected by students can be treated.

Possible topics:
.) ordinary or partial differential equations. e.g. Schrödinger equation, wave equation Boltzmann equation, Dirac equation, fluid dynamic equations, .) PDEs in (quantum) physics, engineering, biology, social sciences, economy, finance, ...

Each participant independently develops a selected topic.

Assessment and permitted materials

Both an oral presentation and an elaborate in writing are necessary.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Presentation and production of a written report.

Examination topics

Themes from applied PDE theory including modelling, analysis, numerical analysis, and computations.

Reading list

Literature indications will be given depending on the topic.
