Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

This seminar aims to provide an introduction into the recent interactions between the theory of condensed matter and topological quantum field theory. On the mathematical side we will cover basic notions and results in TQFT and discuss examples in two and three spacetime dimensions. On the physical side, topological phases of matter, their partial classification, and tensor networks will be among the main topics. Some background on at least one of these two sides will be useful to participate in the seminar.
