Aims, contents and method of the course

Aims: Preparation for a competent planning of stochastical topics of school mathematics at secondary level one and two.
Based on concrete exercises to calculate something but also with some little projects [simulating a special random experiment by selected (stochastical) software for instance] we want to deepen our competence in teaching stochastics in school.

Contents: The treated themes will be closely connected to the contents of the lecture above, of course.

Method: Nevertheless, mathematics can only be understood by self-doing. The tutorial is designed for this sense. The content of the related lecture should be deepened and reflected didactically by discussing concrete exercises. The results of the solved exercises will be presented by the students at the blackboard after call up by the teacher. Working self-dependently on given exercises or projects, presentation to the plenum.

Assessment and permitted materials

Assessment: Evaluation of the presentations and of other collaboration or dedications. This means also an obligatory check of the students' presence.

Permitted materials: Notes for the solution and elaborations with technology.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Minimum requirements: It is necessary to cross two-thirds of the exercises for solved to pass this course. Furthermore, you need two presentations of solutions at the blackboard at least. Moreover, you have to participate on the discussions about the items in the course.

Assessment criteria: For the evaluation the presentations are most important, the other components will decide if the main assesment is valid to two different grades.

Compulsory attendance.
