Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The course deals with the gender aspects of teaching mathematics and the interaction between teacher and students. We will study the relevant literature as well as the current developments in classroom teaching in this field, while at the same time focusing on the
students' own experience. Also, existing differences between girls and boys as to their interests, needs, skills and experience will be discussed, as well as the resulting effects on teaching and learning processes.

The course aims to make students more aware of gender aspects in teaching mathematics and thus enable them to integrate these aspects into their own
work.
