Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The introductory seminar deals with aspects of elementary algebra in accordance with the related lecture. Both mathematical and teaching skills will play an important role. The exercises will closely follow the requirements of classroom teaching, therefore we will also discuss the use of computer algebra systems in the classroom.

Assessment and permitted materials

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

The course aims to make students proficient in providing well-founded instruction in elementary algebra, regarding subject-matter as well as didactical aspects.

Examination topics

Students will be required to present exercises and give short talks prepared in advance.
The presentations as well as their suitability for classroom teaching will be discussed in class.
