Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
Analytic Number Theory deals with assertions from Number Theory whose proofs require tools from analysis. The most famous assertion of this kind is the prime number theorem which we are going to prove here.
Assessment and permitted materials
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
The students should become familiar with the methods of Analytic Number Theory.
Examination topics
The methods are clearly analytic in nature. We need results from real and from complex analysis as well.
