Assessment and permitted materials

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Mathematics teaching is always communication about maths, and certain communicative processes (e.g. arguing) are often regarded as being decisive for high quality teaching. The goal is to enable students to realize the "rules" for subject matter communication in everyday off-computer settings as well as in on-computer settings, to identify elements which obstruct learning and to develop better options. In an inclusive manner gender issues are addressesd in order to enable students to reflect upon the role of subject matter communication for gendering maths and to work against such processes.

Examination topics

- Talk and discussion
- Exercises in analysis of teaching (small group or individual work)
- Students¿ short reports and presentations
- Students¿experiments and their observation
