Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

This course is devoted to harmonic analysis on R and Z from the point of view of time-frequency
analysis. Time-frequency analysis is a branch of modern Fourier analysis and is motivated by applications in signal processing. The course is intended for advanced students and the members of the Initiavkolleg ``Time-Frequency Analysis and Microlocal Analysis''. Therefore the
language will most likely be English.
Prospective topics: Fourier transform, uncertainty principle
Short-time Fourier transform
Wigner distribution
Frame theory
Gabor frames and their structure
Zak transform
Modulation spaces

This is a three credit course. Since I will be abroad in December, I will teach four hours per week during October, November, and January.

Examination topics

Vorkenntnisse: Analysis, ein wenig Funktionalanalysis, Grundkenntnisse über Fourierreihen und Fourier-Transformation.
