This course will provide an introduction and overview of the legal and business landscape in Silicon Valley, focusing on key issues startups face that range from corporate structure, formation and financing to contracting, intellectual property, privacy and data security and employment law issues. By employing case studies and real life examples, this course is geared towards providing students with a practical understanding of the variety of business, regulatory and legal considerations that lawyers advising startups in Silicon Valley face.
