Classes

Currently no class schedule is known.

Aims, contents and method of the course

The topics of the corresponding lecture "Scientific Computing" are applied in exercises: systems of linear equations, error and convergence analysis, regression analysis, solution of nonlinear equations, linear eigenvalue problems, interpolation, numerical differentiation, numerical integration, ordinary differential equations, partial differential equations.
Students program and visualize the exercises in SCILAB.

Assessment and permitted materials

The programs must be uploaded via MOODLE before the lesson every second week. The programs will be evaluated and count max. 2 points each. During the lessons the students will have an ongoing consultation concerning their programs by the teaching assistant (short interviews). Attendance is compulsory. In order to successfully complete the course at least half of the issued exercises need to be positively evaluated AND half of the total points need be obtained.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Deeper understanding of the topics presented in the corresponding lecture. Programming in SCILAB.

Examination topics

Programming and presentation of the exercises in an alternating mode. Tutors are available every second lesson.
