Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The purpose of this course is the mediation of physical aspects and naturally scientific methods as well as the description of functional mechanisms of biological, biochemical and physiological models in living systems. The special style of this course are alternating presentations of theoretical explanations and practical experiments demonstrated within the lessons. The contents of teaching are structured in 4 levels: molecular- cellular- tissueorganic- organismic. Topics:
* Molecular aspects of biophysical systems
* The structure of water within biosystems
* The role of electromagnetic and photophysical interactions; biophotonics
* Dynamics and biological interactions of ionizing radiation
* Cellular systems - biophysical aspects
* Biophysics in diagnostics and therapy of higher organic systems
* Biophysics on connective cell-structures; neuronal systems, muscles, tissue
* Contribution of scale-free and scaled networks on reaction-response dynamics of organisms
