Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

After a basic training of experimental methods in Nuclear and Particle Physics some exercise with detectors are made, e.g. Semiconductor Detectors. The participants have the opportunity to get familiar with new equipments used at CERN for the CMS experiment at the LHC. As a conclusive example the lifetime of the cosmic muon is measured and analysed. This course is based on realistic practical experimental work and will be supervised by the lecturers.
