Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

This seminar deals with the properties and especially with methods of characterization for solids with reduced dimensionality, such as graphene, nanotubes, and thin films. Characterization methods cover e.g. Raman scattering, angle-resolved photoemission, electron microscopy, and scanned probe microscopies. This seminar is in particular designated as preparation for the Praktikum (lab course) low-dimensional solids and should be taken during the same semester as the Praktikum (if the seminar is overbooked, students who also signed up for the Praktikum will be given preference).
