Aims, contents and method of the course

Exercises are solved to practise and deepen the subject of the accompanying lecture course.

Assessment and permitted materials

The assessment is based on written homework, as well as participation and presentations within the online exercise classes.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

• active participation at the online exercise classes (at most one absence unexcused)
• Weekly exercise sheets (three exercises per sheet, 12 sheets) must be solved and handed in online via moodle. For each reasonable solution, students get one point. Within the online exercise class, the teacher can ask students to present their solution. If a student is not able to present an own uploaded solution, all points of that week will be subtracted. In case of absence, the presentation can be caught up in one of the following weeks.
• Students can get up to 4 points for online presentations and participation in class. There is a total of 12*3 + 4 = 40 points.
Grading:
• less than 20 points: 5
• 20 points and more: 4
• 25 points and more: 3
• 30 points and more: 2
• 35 points and more: 1
