Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
Through this seminar, the students will get a comprehensive understanding on the current research carried out in the materials physics research groups at the faculty, including the used instrumentation.Seminar presentations will be based on recently published articles and/or MSc or PhD thesis, supplemented by discussions with the researchers and background information from the literature. This seminar is especially recommended for students who want to explore materials physics as a possible specialization for their master's thesis project.
Assessment and permitted materials
Participation in the seminars and seminar preparation sessions, and delivery of their own presentations. Students will be paired for preparing the seminars, and each student will participate in two such pairs.
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
The presentations should explain the scientific motivation of the research and give an insight to the basic physical principles behind the respective methods and to the materials properties that were studied.
Examination topics
Reading list
Literature will be provided during the course.
