Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The aim of the exercise classes is to support the learning on Advanced Materials course through theoretical examples. The content will follow the book Materials Science and Engineering - An Introduction (Callister and Rethwisch) and possible other course material.

Assessment and permitted materials

The course is evaluated based on solutions provided to the exercises through Moodle platform. Due to current remote teaching, no calculations can be presented in classroom and the evaluation is entirely based on handed in solutions.

Each solution is graded on scale 0-100. Full points are given for a correct and concise solution, whereas incorrect solutions yield points on the interval ]0,100[.

The final grade is calculated by equally weighting each solution divided by the maximum attainable points.

To pass the course, minimum of 50% of maximum attainable points must be collected. By collecting >75% of maximum points will yield an increase of +1 in the grade of the final examination.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

To pass the course, minimum of 50% of maximum attainable points must be collected.
