This lab course will be held once a week from 13:15 to 19:15.
The lab course is part of the "Materials Science Lab Course" (in total 11 h/week) which is organized in cooperation with the Institute of Physical Chemistry (Faculty of Chemistry).
Participation requires additional registration within the course "Modern Methods of Characterising Materials" of the Faculty of Chemistry, 3 h/week.
The lab course will be held in English, if desired.

Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

A practical survey on Materials Physics and its most important methods.

Assessment and permitted materials

The judging of students is derived from the activity in preceding talk, the engagement during the experiments, and from the result of final questioning.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Correct handling of modern research facilities, good physical understanding, suitable documentation of experiments, and the specific preparation for a bachelor-, master-, diploma work , and/or a doctoral thesis on materials physics.

Examination topics

The lab course uses modern audio-visual tools and state-of-the-art research instruments.
