The goal of the course is the presentation of the basic concepts of modern high energy physics. The course starts with an overview of the fundamental interactions and the tools of particle physics - detectors, accelerators and experiments. The Standard Model and its limitations are then presented. The discovery of the Higgs boson in this model is described, followed by a presentation of physics beyond the Standard Model. The unification of interactions, Supersymmetry, extra dimensions and gravity are described from an experimental point of view. The course ends with an outlook to astroparticle physics, in particular neutrinos and cosmology. New subjects will also be presented if they arise.
