Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
These are the exercise sessions of the Course 260067 VO Scattering, Microscopy and Spectroscopy (2021S) and they form one unity with the former.The purpose of the exercises is to go over crucial derivations related to the main topics of the lecture course, and to provide practical examples of calculations related to microscopy and spectroscopy, deepening the mathematical understanding of the content. The exercises for each session will be distributed one week in advance, and the students are expected to solve them independently.The examples will be uploaded the week before. They can upload their worked out ones back to Moodle. After the deadline, the official solutions will be uploaded. You can then compare your solution with the one yourself.
Assessment and permitted materials
The PUE is an examination-immanent course and serves as preparation for the module examination. Registration for the PUE is not mandatory, but recommended. Note: With the registration for the PUE the participation is binding.A consequence-free withdrawal from this course is possible until 26.03.2021 23:59.Without exception, all students registered after this deadline may participate in the PUE and will be graded according to the PUE assessment criteria.The grade of the PUE will NOT be included in the grade of the module examination. The performance record required for the module (VO + PUE) is achieved by completing the module examination.
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Participation in a unit is constituted by uploading at least one solved exercise. You can miss a maximum of 2 units in a semester. Upon successful participation the final grade depends on the percentage x of exercises solved and uploaded by you.x >= 87.5% => 1
x >= 75% => 2
x >= 62.5% => 3
x >= 50% => 4
If x is below 50% or you missed more than 2 units the grade is 5.
