Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The participants should carry out student experiments of various fields of physics using the school experimental equipment. The participants should explore how to integrate student experiments, as well as simulations, and the use of computer simulations in physics lessons. Particularly the following topics will be discussed: classroom management; grading; development of lessons and teaching material; methods for keeping the yield of teaching; physical background At the Gymnasium Rosasgasse (http://www.rosasgasse.at/) student experiments are intensified in science courses (see photo gallery under http://www.herbert-wittmann.at/NW/NW.html). The use of experiment boxes is expedient for larger groups of students. We will also work with these boxes in the seminar.

Assessment and permitted materials

Attendance, active participation, written reports

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

The participants should learn how to integrate student experiments usefully in physics courses and to have experiments carried out by the students themselves.
