Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

During this lab course, two detailed experiments in the field of Solid State Physics will be conducted using modern research equipment. These examples will cover selected solids with reduced dimensionality, such as graphen, nanotubes, and thin films. Characterization uses microscopic (scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy) and spectroscopic methods (Raman scattering, angle-resolved photoemission). A successful participation in the seminar low-dimensional solids is a prerequisite.
As part of this lab the basic knowledge for a bachelor thesis can be acquired and a thesis can be extended from the lab course topics.

Assessment and permitted materials

Analysis and Protocol of the lab course

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Development to independent experimental activities.

Examination topics

Execution, documentation and presentation of experimental work.
