Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

In a series of talks, the participants of this seminar will give talks and learn about the application of Poisson geometry to problems of quantization, and about non-commutative geometry applied to quantum field theory. After some introductory talks, possible advanced topics are non-commutative gauge theory and the deformation of observable algebras in quantum field theory. Participants will have the possibility to discuss the program and further seminar topics during the first meeting (March 1), where also a guide to relevant literature will be given.
Prerequisites for this seminar are quantum mechanics and basic knowledge of differential geometry and relativity.

Assessment and permitted materials

Evaluation of the talks

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

In thematically connected talks, the participants will be lead towards present day research topics in non-commutative geometry and quantum field theory.
