Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The aim of the seminar is the discussion of current research topics in aerosol physics. The students will learn to read scientific literature and give scientific presentations.

In this course students learn...
- to read and understand scientific literature
- about current research topics in aerosol physics
- to give scientific presentations
- to participate in a dicussion and ask questions
- to give constructive feedback to others

Method: Presentation and discussion of current literature or current master and doctoral theses. Furthermore, the status of ongoing research projects is presented.

Assessment and permitted materials

Continuous assessment course.
Presentation of a topic previously agreed on with the teachers (current literature or master's or doctoral thesis).

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Minimum requirements
- Compulsory attendance, unexcused absence is allowed twice
- Presentation is mandatory.

Assessment criteria
- Presentation: 70% of the total points
- Participation in discussions (constructive, technically correct contributions and engagement in the discussions of the presentations): 30% of the total points

In order to attain a positive grade at least 50.00% of the total points must be achieved.
The grading key for assessment is:
Very good: 100.00% - 87.00%
Good: 86.99% - 75.00%
Satisfactory: 74.99% - 63.00%
Sufficient: 62.99% - 50.00%
Not sufficient: 49,99% - 0,00%

Examination topics

All contents covered in the course, in particular the technical content of the lecture given by the specific student and those presented in the seminar.
