Aims, contents and method of the course
Foundations of statistical physics, thermodynamics, methods of statistical physics, systems of particles without interaction (diatomic ideal gas, fermions, bosons, phonons, etc.), systems of particles with interaction (Van der Waals gas, ferromagnetism), approach to equilibirum (master equation, Boltzmann equation, transport theory)

Concepts of statistical physics, understanding the notions entropy and temperature, concepts of thermodynamics, relation between statistical physics and thermodynamics, relevance of quantum mechanics for the understanding of properties of materials
