Aims, contents and method of the course

Formation of aerosol particles in supersaturated vapours by nucleation and condensation. Formation energy of molecular clusters, stable critical clusters in unary and multicomponent systems. Kinetics of cluster formation and nucleation rate. Nucleation experiments, applications for condensation particle counters. Phase transitions in the atmosphere, formation of fogs and clouds. Influence of atmospheric aerosols on radiation balance and the development of the global climate.
