Aims, contents and method of the course
Erwerb und Vertiefung von Grundkompetenzen im Stoffgebiet der Thermodynamik und Statistischen Mechanik.
Assessment and permitted materials
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
19-22 Punkte: 3 ("Befriedigend")
23-26 Punkte: 2 ("Gut")
27-30 Punkte: 1 ("Sehr gut")

Assessment and permitted materials
Exercise sheets, number of solved exercises, blackboard presentation, one test at the end of the semester
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
The assessment is based on the results of a test, the performance in the presentation and the number of ticked examples on the exercise sheets.
Every week a task sheet is provided, the tasks of which must be worked out independently.
Each example that has been worked out must be ticked in the list provided on the course's Moodle page by 08:00 on the day of the exercise at the latest. If less than 60% of the examples dealt with in the exercise course are ticked, the course is considered to have been failed. Active participation in the exercises is also required to pass the course (no more than two absences without an excuse). Otherwise, points are awarded for the number of crosses according to the following scheme:
60-68% checked: 1 point
69-76% checked: 2 points
77-84% checked: 3 points
85-92% checked: 4 points
92-100% checked: 5 points
In addition, the presentation of a task in the exercise can be rated with between 0 and 5 points, depending on the performance.
A written test will be held towards the end of the course at a date that has yet to be fixed, which, depending on the performance, can bring in a further 0-20 points.
The course is considered failed if fewer than 15 points are achieved in this way.
In general, the grade is calculated using the following key:
0-14 points: 5 ("Unsatisfactory")
15-18 points: 4 ("Sufficient")
19-22 points: 3 ("Satisfactory")
23-26 points: 2 ("Good")
27-30 points: 1 ("Excellent")
