Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The course topics are: A) Complex analysis, B) Fourier transform and the theory of distributions, C) classical linear partial differential equations, D) linear operators on Hilbert spaces.

The course content is based on material from the books [FK], namely volume 1, Kapitel VII, and volume 2, Kapitel III-VI. Further literature: For A) [A], [J], [KW], for B) [A], [BB], [F-A3], [KW], for C) [E], [F], and for D) [BB], [KW].

This lecture course is supported by weekly companion tutorial sessions (organized by Michael Hollnbuchner, Benjamin Moser, Chiara-Renata Horak), where students can discuss questions about the course content in an informal way.

Assessment and permitted materials

Written exam (90 minutes).

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

To pass the exam at least half of the grading points overall have to be achieved.
