Aims, contents and method of the course

The aim of the course is to obtain an understanding of the classical and quantum properties of light. The course will provide an introduction into the experimental foundations of quantum optics, the key experiments and the basic theoretical principles. Standard lecture format with mixed blackboard/Powerpoint presentation.

Assessment and permitted materials

Final assessment as moodle based exam.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Grades in final exam according to percentage of achieved points:

(4 ): 50% - 62%
(3): 63% - 75%
(2 ): 76% - 88%
(1): 89% - 100%.
