Aims, contents and method of the course
The exercises aim to give a vivid and active experience of the topics treated in the concomitant lecture series. They center on the various physical aspects of an environmentally friendly method of transport and an exquisite sport: Mechanics, hydrodynamics, theory of waves, materials science.
Assessment and permitted materials
Solutions and discussion contributions by the participants are evaluated continually by the tutor.
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
To get a thorough understanding of the mechanisms which move a wind-driven craft, based on hydrodynamics, materials science, theory of oscillations etc.
Examination topics
Previously issued problems and their solutions are discussed by the participants. Experiments are carried out and evaluated.
