Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
All students that are still registered after the 31th of October will be graded according to their crosses. If an exercise has been crossed but not prepared or cannot be explained, then the student loses five crosses for cheating.
The final grade is determined according to the following scheme:
x<=80%: 1
70%<=x<80% 2
60%<=x<70%: 3
50%<=x<60%: 4
x<50%: 5Good blackboard presentations by the students and active participation in the exercise class can influence the final grade in a positive manner.The final grade of the PUE does not affect the grade in the module exam. The only way to full fill the requirements of the module (VO+PUE) is by passing the module exam.

Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
The goal is to deepen the understanding of the subjects as well as the extension of the subjects of the lecture "Experimental Physics IV: Condensed Matter” by means of solving exercises. This exercise class is intended as a preparation for the module examination “E IV module examination Experimental Physics IV: Condensed Matter“ and is highly recommended for this purpose. There will be two trial tests, in the middle and at the end of the semester, respectively. They will be graded but will not contribute to the final grading of the PUE. The trial tests are solely intended to provide a realistic environment to assess your own problem solving skills.
Assessment and permitted materials
In order to pass the exercise course, the students must not miss more than two exercise classes. The attendance is checked with a signature list.The exercise sheets are spread via Moodle one week before the exercise class (also before the first class). The students prepare the exercises and tick the exercises on a list of crosses on Moodle (1 cross per exercise). With the tick of an exercise the students declare that they have prepared the exercise and can show their written preparatory materials and are also able to present it on the blackboard. The ticking of exercises will be possible until one hour before the beginning of the exercise class. In the session, a student, who has made a cross for the exercise, is picked by the trainer and has to solve the exercise on the blackboard. Good blackboard presentations by the students and active participation in the exercise class can improve the final grade.Please note that for the first exercise class (for the group on Monday the 14.10.2019, for the group on Tuesday the 15.10.2019 and for the groups on Wednesday the 16.10.2019) there will be exercises to prepare already!
