Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
This course will cover the basics of ion and electron irradiation effects in materials in the context of ion implantation, swift heavy and highly charged ion irradiation, and transmission electron microscopy. The course will be taught through lectures, exercises and seminars. The first 1/3 of the course is reserved for ion irradiation, the second 1/3 for electron irradiation, and the last 1/3 is reserved for student seminars, which will delve into details of these topics with the help of current literature.
Assessment and permitted materials
1/2 of the grade will come from the seminar, and the other 1/2 from solved and presented exercises during the course.
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Both the seminar and the exercises need to be passed separately in order to get a positive grade.
Examination topics
Reading list
Will be provided during the course.
