Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

This lecture focuses on the fundamental concepts of physics related to nanotechnology. The wide variety of experimental and theoretical tools required to develop, study and manipulate nanostructured materials will be covered to a level that the student should confidently be able to start embracing research within a nanotechnology related field.

This lecture concludes with a "Modulprüfung" that will benefit from a combined attendance to the PUE.

Assessment and permitted materials

General exam, which in case of the Modul examination will include VO+PUE. The exam will be in written form on the publish dates and it will cover the whole material discussed during the lectures. It consists of questions, exercises and multiple choice items.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

A minimum of 50% of the possible score needs to be reached for the student to be able to pass. Above this percentage, all additional points entitle the student for a higher final grade.

Examination topics

The whole material provided during the lectures. Note that this means lecture notes and slides discussed during the lecture that will not include a descriptive text. It is therefore expected that the students are present during the lectures. The material discussed is matter of constant developments, therefore the literature to be provided will vary from previous courses.
