Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Introduction course in C programming (Basic language elements and structures, object oriented
programming). In addition to the basis of C programming numerical standard procedures to solve common problems in physics will be presented and discussed. Possible sources of errors and general limitations will be demonstrated on delected examples (root finding, numerical integration Runge-Kutta-integration, Nystroem integration, Monte-Carlo simulation etc.). Application of the discussed procedures in practical problems (e.g. 3 body problem, body motion in moving fluids, diffusion, etc.).

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Understanding of the basic structur of C programs, application to most common simple problems in physics.

Examination topics

According to the contents of the lecture, using AV tools wherever appropriate.
