Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Introduction into various processes of nucleosynthesis in stars, e.g. from the stages of hydrogen burning to supernova-explosions. One goal is a more detailed understanding of the abundance distribution of elements in our solar system. New questions will be discussed and approaches to investigate such stellar processes in the lab are presented. Basics of nuclear reactions relevant in thermonuclear fusion, e.g. as planned for the next generation fusion device ITER, are discussed and will be compared to the stellar processes.
