Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Widely independent entering of a limited area of alloy physics and study of research problems based on some recent publications. The findings are compiled and presented in a clear and understandable talk.
Topics: Diffusion in Metals and Alloys, Atomic Ordering in Alloys, Phase Transformations in Alloys, Measuring Methods in Alloy Physics, Intermetallic Compounds, Amorphous Alloys: Metglasses, Field Ion Microscopy - Tomographic Atom Probe, Quasicrystals.

Assessment and permitted materials

Continuous discussion of the working out, the found publications, the compilation in an outline and the preparation of an oral presentation. Evaluation of the presentation with respect to its content and clearness.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Discussion of physical content of the selected topic, compilation of contents, literature study and selection of current publications in connection with the topic, preparation of an outline for a presentation, preparation of a ppt presentation, oral presentation, active discussion of other presentations.
The evaluation is due to the quality of the working out, the compilation of contents in an outline and the clearness of the presentation.

Examination topics

The details of the area of physics (alloy physics), which are the basis for the continuous examination process, are due to the selected topic.
