Aims, contents and method of the course

Introduction to the subatomic structure of matter, Standard Model of the fundamental interactions (with as little mathematical sophistication as possible), basic features of nuclear physics and of nuclear astrophysics.

Assessment and permitted materials

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Acquisition of basic knowledge of nuclear and particle physics that should be suitable for being taught during the last years of secondary schools.

Examination topics

Lectures and discussions on the basis of available lecture notes.
