After a basic training of experimental methods in Nuclear and Particle Physics some exercise with tracking devices like Multiwire - Proportional - Chamber as well as Semiconductor Detectors are made. The participants have the opportunity to get familiar with new equipments used at CERN for the CMS experiment at the LHC. As a conclusive example the lifetime of the cosmic muon is measured and analysed. This course is based on realistic practical experimental work and will be supervised by the lecturers.
