Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
Perfomance of basic physical experiments in mechanics, thermodynamics, electricity and magnetisme, optics, including the introduction and application of error analysis.
Assessment and permitted materials
Course with immanent character
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
1. Application of basic knowledge in physics to simple experimental problems. 2. Improved understanding of physical concepts by performing experiments. 3. Acquire new knowledge in physics and apply it to new problems. 4. Learn to handle simple measurement devices and tools. 5. Learn to write a protocol of the experimental results. 6. Learn to estimate the accuracy of measurements. 7. Become acquainted with computer-based data aquisition and evaluation. Learn to use computers for teaching at schools. 8. Training in teamwork. Learn to work in small groups.
Examination topics
Work is divided in eLearning-phases and practical work in the labs (blended learning concept). The preparation for the experiments takes place in an eLearning environment. The practical work is done in at least 10 out of 12 units during the semester. At the end of each work unit a protocol has to be handed to the teachers.
