Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The aim of the practical class is to learn the physics background and to get personal experience when using modern microscopy methods. The different methods are used to analyse the microstructure of various specimens down to the atomic level.
The practical class includes three different subjects of modern microscopy: Electron Microscopy, Scanning Probe Microscopy and Optical Microscopy with Digital Image Processing.

Assessment and permitted materials

Continuous evaluation of the course work, report and talk.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Minimum requirements for a positive assessment is the continuous participation, preparation of reports and giving a talk

Examination topics

Modern microscopical methods in Materials Physics.
