The excursion is recommended for students in the second part of their studies. The aim is information on topics of actual research in large scale facilities and extra-university institutions.
In winter semester 2003/4 we visit the Paul-Scherrer Institute in Villigen (Switzerland). The following program is planned:

10:00-11:45: Introduction to PSI, psi forum (general overview, visit of the exhibition)
11:45-13:00: lunch
13:00-15:00: proton accelerator
15:00-15:30: pause
15:30-17:00: neutron physics with the neutron spallation source SINQ, insbesondere SANS

10:00-12:00: synchrotron light source Switzerland, SLS
12:00-13:00: lunch
13:00-16:00: energy research at PSI, in particular solar chemistry
