Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Participation in at least 10 course units during the semester. At the end of each work unit a report has to be handed to the teachers. The teachers award marks for the preparation (max 3 points per unit), the performance at the experiments (max 4 points), and the quality of the reports (max 3 points). Without a report the unit is considered as not finished and no points are given. In total, a minimum of 66 points (of possible 110) must be reached.

Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Work is divided in eLearning-phases and practical work in the labs (blended learning concept). The preparation for the experiments takes place in an eLearning environment. Conducting basic physical experiments in mechanics, thermodynamics, electricity and magnetisme, optics, including the introduction and application of error analysis. Consolidation and increase of knowledge and understanding in physics. Learn to use simple instruments and laboratory devices. Learn to work in a team (small groups of 2 or 3 persons). Preliminary exercise for writing of scientific papers.
