Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
The various physical aspects of an environmentally friendly method of transport are treated: Mechanics, hydrodynamics, theory of waves, materials science.
Assessment and permitted materials
Oral examination
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
To get a thorough understanding of the mechanisms which move a wind-driven craft, based on hydrodynamics, materials science, theory of oscillations etc.
Examination topics
Lecture series relying heavily on graphic material presented via data projector. Interaction with students (discussions) are encouraged. There will be an excursion to the Vienna Model Basin Ltd.
