Aims, contents and method of the course

Foundations of experimental particle physics, the standard model of particle physics, fundamental symmetries and conservation laws.

Assessment and permitted materials

Written examination (60 minutes) with basic questions of understanding
No aids allowed.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Minimum requirement for positive result: 50% of total points
less than 50%: "nicht genügend"
Minimum 50% but less than 65%: "genügend"
Minimum 65% but less than 80%: "befriedigend"
Minimum 80% but less than 90%: "gut"
Minimum 90%: "sehr gut"

Examination topics

Part II, chapter 3-8 from the skriptum (lecture notes) available on moodle. Questions will be in English, it is possible to answer in German.
