Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
Physics education research has revealed that pupils have a number of ideas about how physical systems behave even after they are instructed in Physics. These alternative conceptions are also existent in the field of geometrical optics and influence learning process often negatively. In this seminar different approaches to the instruction of optics are discussed.
Assessment and permitted materials
Portfolio
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Discussing the results of research in science education concerning optics
Discussing research based instructional designs and strategies that integrate alternative conceptions about optics
Developing teaching modules for a certain target group based on these research results
Putting the planned teaching modules into practice, followed by in-class evaluation
