Examination topics
Contents of the courses of the STEOP 2 module (VO+PUE+PVU). These are all chapters of the Living Lecture Notes " Einführung in die Physikalischen Rechenmethoden – STEOP 2 Modul für das Bachelorstudium Physik (7 ECTS)" by Prof. Dr. Christoph Dellago and Prof. Dr. André Hoang. The calculus skills acquired in the exam preparation exercise class as well as in the exam preparation lecture combined with exercise units are inherently tested in the module examination.
There is a weekly tutorium, where you can participate without registration, and where you can ask questions on issues on the STEOP2 lecture to a more senior student.

Acquirement, understanding and refreshment of the basic mathematical skills in the context of analytical computational methods which are required in the initial phase of physics studies.Contents:
The most important functions and their properties, coordinate systems and vector algebra, differentiation rules, differentiation of functions and vectors, partial differentiation, integration rules, rotational bodies, calculation of arc lengths, multiple integrals, complex numbers (Cartesian representation, exponential form), differentiation of fields (grad, div and rot), integration of fields (curve and surface integrals) as well as ordinary differential equations 1st and 2nd order (linear homogeneous and inhomogeneous differential equations in the physical context, existence and uniqueness of solutions).Method:
In the lecture the concepts and methods are discussed by means of representative examples (knowledge transfer by ex-cathedra teaching) as well as the learned knowledge is directly applied (interactive elements). An active participation is necessary for learning the application of methods to solve problems. The use of the Student Response System ARSnova is intended to motivate active participation.Information and links for attending the lecture REMOTELY can be found on the Moodle page. The HYBRID lecture on Tuesday can be attended in person or remotely. Use the registration tool on the Moodle page for in person attendance!
