Aims, contents and method of the course

This seminar aims for all participating students to become familiar with the subject area, methods and formal requirements of the Bachelor thesis, e.g. historic physical devices and literature as a source of knowledge on physics compared with today. But other topics, such as liquid nitrogen, cryogenic subjects or scanning tunneling microscopy are also possible.
The aims of the seminar are conveyed by the following methods: short presentations of the course lecturer and the students, discussions, historic and modern experiments, production of photos and videos, support to work independently.

Assessment and permitted materials

Active participation, short presentations and written composition of assigned tasks, respectively.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Basically, attendance is obligatory (absence may be excused in case of justifiable reasons), two short presentations, 50 % of the possible points are required.
