Assessment and permitted materials

The "PUE" is an exercise class with continuous assessment of students' work. It serves to prepare students for the written module exam.

Registration for the PUE is not compulsory, but strongly recommended.

Notice: Once registered for the PUE, participation is mandatory. Deregistration from this course is possible up to Thursday 31.10.2019 23:59. All students who remain registered once this deadline has elapsed will be graded in accordance with the evaluation criteria of the PUE.
The grade of the PUE will not count towards the grade of the module exam.
The proof of performance necessary to complete the module (VO + PUE) is given by passing the written module exam.

Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Functions, vectors, differentiation, integration, complex numbers, partial derivatives, fields, gradient, divergence, curl, line integral, multiple integrals, theorems of Gauss and Stokes.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

The students learn to use the mathematical tools needed in the course "Einführung in die Physik"

Examination topics

Practical examples are discussed and solved in class according to the material presented in the lecture "Introduction to Mathematics for Physicists".
