Aims, contents and method of the course
Scientific writing and presentation are key skills of a researcher to communicate results obtained in the lab and scientific publications, poster and oral presentations are the most important tools available. Accordingly, the preparation of manuscripts (reviews, original articles, communications, etc.), posters and oral presentations will be discussed.
Assessment and permitted materials
The course assessment will be based on the contributions to the manuscript, on the quality of the poster presentation and of the lecture.
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
The course shall provide insights into the preparation of manuscripts, posters and oral presentations. Each participant will prepare an oral presentation, a poster and contribute a chapter to a manuscript to be submitted to a scientific journal. At the end of the course a day will be selected to present the topics in a conference-like atmosphere.
Examination topics
The course will be a hybrid between a lecture and a seminar. A short introduction will be given at the beginning of each course, which will be followed by discussions and work on the manuscripts, posters, and talks.
